Anime streetwear

Anime streetwear

Our collection of anime streetwear

Sometimes funny and light, sometimes dramatic and moving, we have to admit, anime and manga are our common weak point. While this cute little sin remains unacknowledged by most, the proud communities of otaku continue to grow. Moreover, the animated spirit gradually slips into the other aspects of our daily life. Not surprisingly, the fashion industry, and especially streetwear, has also been impacted by this legendary cult movement.

In addition to being a means of entertainment enjoyed by young and old, anime are an important window into Japanese culture. It is almost a genre of its own which in turn reflects the creativity and the sweet refined sense of Asian animation artists.

Like the Disney heroes and the first cartoons, manga and anime rocked our childhood. Past masters in the field, the famous mangakas have woven the least probable plots and have given life to ultra endearing characters. What was a local success ended up going around the globe.

The real ones will remember Manga, one of the first channels to broadcast the anime of yesteryear, long before J-One and the others. Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon and Astroboy, then the famous Pokémons, Naruto and One Piece have invaded the American and European media.

Both emanating Japanese culture, it goes without saying that the aesthetics of streetwear and manga are layered. Of course, they are based on artistic expression and creativity. The anime fandom and the streetwear subculture are one. It is not trivial to meet in the street a group of young people dressed in streetwear, having one or more anime references. On the contrary, those who would have been considered nerds a few years ago are considered the coolest of the clique.
